2022 has thus far been good–but not great, and it’s likely that everything you aimed to do this year has fallen by the wayside. Well, that’s about to change. On Fri. Apr. 1, at 12:24 a.m. MT, we have a new moon in fire sign Aries and it’s guaranteed to breathe new life into your goals.
Why? Because a) new moons are the best times to start new projects or set new goals, and b) Aries is the premier sign of setting new seemingly impossible goals, starting new projects or just starting over. (Don’t believe me? Ask Aries Mariah Carey after she made the movie Glitter. That film was so bad, Aries Carey had no choice but to start over.)
Yep, Aries energy is all about new beginnings. It’s also about new aims and goals and challenges. Oh, and being direct and fearless (if not a bit headstrong and impulsive) in your pursuit of those new beginnings, aims and goals. Cardinal signs Cancer, Libra and Capricorn will especially feel the pioneering spirit of this new moon (because pioneering, initiating, and starting new projects are what those signs do), but all the zodiac signs can use this new moon to their advantage.
Mercury in Aries is in close contact with this new moon, which provides an extra boost of brain power for formulating plans or big-picture goals. And planets Venus, Mars and Saturn are all closely aligned in Aquarius. This helps orient your desires, actions and ambitions, making it all the more easier to get back on track (or to just simply get on track).
But the big planet aspecting the new moon isn’t a planet at all. Chiron, the asteroid associated with our core wounds, is currently transiting Aries and is closely conjunct with this Aries new moon. According to Cafe Astrology, Chiron connections open up wounds, worries, fears and pains in the parts of our lives that it touches (this is determined by where the asteroid is transiting your chart).
With Chiron connected to the Aries new moon, issues of self-worth, excessive anger or competitiveness could surface and try to derail your positivity (because Aries is very positive). But if the cardinal fire sign’s glyph–the Ram–can teach us anything, it’s that even amidst doubts and issues, we charge ahead.
